Will a floating staircase work for me?
Not all buildings can accommodate a floating staircase for a variety of reasons, however the main reason is lack of space.
There is also the very important element of ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, and generally, in order to comply with the building regulations, you need plenty of space.

Building Regulations UK
Without getting into too much detail, here's a short list outlining the requirements of a staircase to meet Building Control Approval.

Each step should have a maximum rise of 220mm.

Each step should have a minimum going of 220mm.

The staircase should have a maximum pitch of 42 degrees.

No opening (such as the gap between treads) should allow the passage of a 100mm sphere.

Above the pitch line, there must be a minimum headroom clearance of 2m.
-
Stair tread overhangs must be a minimum of 16mm.
-
A single handrail is required if the staircase is less than 1m wide, whereas a double handrail is required if the width exceeds 1m.

The handrail must be 50mm from the wall(s).

Handrails on stairs and landings should have a minimum height of 900mm and a maximum height of 1m above the pitch line

A landing area must be provided at the top & bottom of every flight of stairs.

The landing area in front of the top & bottom step should be at least the same length as the width of the stairs - if you have a 900mm wide staircase, there should be a clear landing area 900mm in front of the top and bottom step.

The installation of this type of staircase will usually take 2 days on site, however these 2 days will not be consecutive.
